The Imperial Irrigation District (IID) is excited to offer its second annual Festival of Lights drive-through Christmas lighting spectacular, making the holiday season more fun, festive, and colorful.

The Festival of Lights, presented by IID, will launch its dynamic light show on Saturday, December 6, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds and will continue on select dates throughout the month.

The completely free event is a perfect way for families to kick off the holiday season.

“We are so excited to get our awesome Festival of Lights community event up and running better than ever, which will brighten everyone’s holidays,” said Karin Eugenio, IID Division 5 Director. “We’re inviting you and yours to enjoy this special holiday experience. So, come one, come all, and join us in celebration. We look forward to seeing you!”

This festive holiday tradition is guaranteed to spread the power of Christmas, lifting spirits this holiday season. Those wishing to participate will enter the fairgrounds from the north on 2nd Street. From the comfort of your vehicle, get ready to enjoy a spectacular array of light displays, featuring energy-saving LED bulbs (light-emitting diodes) while driving through a winter wonderland.

Upon exit, each vehicle will receive information on the District’s energy savings programs and a holiday ornament. The Festival of Lights will continue to take place on December 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, from 5:30 to 9:30 each night.
