The exhibition features 15 works by three photographers from Mexicali and aims to raise community awareness about the importance of water, its preservation, and the role citizens play in using it responsibly.

Mexicali – The State Commission of Public Services of Mexicali (CESPM) recently inaugurated the Water Expo, an open-to-the-public exhibition at the state utility’s park, located at Río Mocorito and Calzada Independencia. Various exhibitors are showcasing works that highlight the value of water, its care, and the current challenges in protecting this essential resource.

The exhibition includes a total of 15 photographs: 12 by Luis Rodríguez Araiza, a renowned photographer from Mexicali with extensive experience in photojournalism; 2 by Carlos Reyes Castro; and 1 by Guillermo González Mascareño. Each artist contributed their vision of the community’s relationship with water and the spaces where this resource plays a vital role in daily life.

Through this collection, the exhibitors aim to encourage reflection on the importance of adopting responsible practices and safeguarding the water bodies that supply the city and its rural communities.

CESPM invited all citizens to visit the exhibition and enjoy the park’s atmosphere—a space specially designed for social interaction and environmental education. The exhibit is freely accessible to all visitors, as it has been installed in a public space.

The Water Expo has thus established itself as a meeting point that combines art, environmental awareness, and community participation, promoting an urgent and essential message: protecting water is everyone’s responsibility.
